Okay, so this freakin’ month of February is the love month. Valentine’s Day is just there and… WHAT? VALENTINES?! Where is my date?! Where is my freakin’ date?!

. . .

I don ‘ have a date. I don’t even have a boyfriend! *laughs* And so, how would I spend my Valentines? I would simply draw more commissions. Yes, drawing makes me happy and no, I won’t find any hot guys to boot. I’m too early for that. (WHUT?!) Just kiddin. Honestly, I really don’t care whether I have a boyfriend or not. Valentines day isn’t just about spending time with your partner. It is meant to be celebrated by all. Celebrate it with family, friends. Sigh.

Many becomes bitter during Valentines because they were remembering their ex’s and how they celebrated that day. oh brother, MOVE ON!!! You have your friends, your family to celebrate with! Just freakin’ forever whoever broke your damn, gorgeous heart.

Anyways, I have been asked to draw couple arts lately. 0_0 Yeah, a whole lot of them, and the image above is one of them. Its actually my favorite. =) Its kinda cute, don’t you think so? =)

Today is quite another depressing day. I didn’t go to class because I haven’t finished yet my requirements. Sigh, I wish I will be able to survive this year, and Valentines.

But in my love life? No worries I guess. Because I know God is saving me for the right guy. :”)

But, I am just curious…

Tokyo Marble Chocolate

I first saw this very simple and short anime in an anime magazine a year ago and then watched it. It was done by Production IG, the wonderful studio that did Ghost in the Shell. It is an Original Video Animation (OVA) which consists of two half-hour (almost) episodes.

The story centers on the lovers, Chizuru and Yuudai. Both of then are uncertain and unsure of their feelings for each other. They both have fears in the relationships to their past loves and break-ups.

The first episode tackles Chizuru’s view on their relationship while the second one is about Yuudai’s view.

Will they be able to grow and strengthen their love and relationship?

Truthfully, the anime is really simple in terms of its art but despite of that simplicity it harbors an inspiring and thoughtful sweetness and romance. Animation wise, as it was animated by an award-winning studio, it was very fluid and cute (if I may describe it). The pastel colors of the art adds up to its romantic plot and with a splash of comedy, it has the whole package. The story maybe cliche – predictable – but it doesn’t matter.

Chizuru’s point of view didn’t quite capture me as Yuudai’s did. Maybe it is because of her personality who is quite a mild pessimist. Can’t blame her though, she had been through a lot of hardships in a relationship.

As for Yuudai’s, it was really sweet, making me wish a guy would like that – despite of his klutz side – is very passionate when in a relationship. He may be not one of the gorgeous guys but you can rely on him and has a lovable personality.

The music was reaaaalllly good to top all of that. Seamo’s Mata Aimashou was used for Chizuru’s episode. It was quite of a lonely and sad song. Sukima Switch’s catchy song Zenryoku Shounen was used for Yuudai’s. The song tells about what a man must do. Face his fears, stand up, and never EVER give up! Catchy as it can be, I was listening to it hundred times.

Wrapping things up, the anime was really good and I suggest that couples out there must watch this. I really want a relationship like that. =)

PS: The anime won the Grand Prize in the Feature Film Category  in Seoul International Cartoon & Animation Festival last 2008. Cool huh?

I don’t know why the hell I drew all of these! I am not in love or something. Maybe I guess I was just inspired. In all of these three doodles, I really like the first one. Maybe because the pairing is so cute and their expressions. I mostly got my inspirations from short stories, love songs, and quotations. Ahaha, but while I was drawing these, I am thinking of having a boyfriend. But guess my standards only exist in my daydreams. But in anyways, my true love will someday come. I’ll just wait and see to it.

Maka x Soul

A pairing from the anime Soul Eater

Just recently I decided to have an artwork for every month of a year and this one is for January 2011. It took me days before I have finally finished it. This was originally a scrap (the traditional sketch, I mean) but then I picked it up again, did the lineart and thing and viola! This was the result of that awesome scrap.

Now, originally, the art was supposed to be my entry in fan art contest but I failed to attend it and either ways, I do not want to submit original hard copy artworks. Because it would bring me to tears!! *A*

To tell you about this artwork, it features Maka Albarn and Soul Eater Evans from the anime Soul Eater. They are obviously an adorable pairing that I couldn’t help but to draw them. This is by the way my first fan art of the couple.

The concept is that Maka harbors… some romantic feelings (which is I don’t know if she do in the anime or manga) for Soul and that look on her gives the aura of… having some secret feelings for her partner, Soul. And Soul on the other hand in this art just looked so… bishounen type and looked more decent and respectful. *laughs* Ahaha!!

This is done in Photoshop ver.7.0. Yep, not CS4 nor 5, just the plain old thing. One of the earliest versions. Hey, it is awesome I tell you. =)
